About Nurturing Parenting Programs

The Nurturing Parenting Programs are evidence based, family-centered, and trauma-informed programs designed to build nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglecting parenting and child-rearing practices. work, and social services.The long-term goals are to prevent recidivism in families receiving social services, lower the rate of multi-parent teenage pregnancies, reduce juvenile delinquency and alcohol abuse, and stop the intergenerational and multicultural cycle of child abuse by teaching positive parenting behaviors. Training Information

Training Includes

Hands-on and practical approach to conducting home and group-based Nurturing Programs that includes facilitating weekly sessions, how to use program materials, videos, and assessment tools, children’s and parents’ program activities, icebreakers, personal growth lessons, activities for personal power, alternatives to corporal punishment, building self-esteem, self-concept and empathy in parents and children. This is an interactive, learner-centered workshop with opportunity for practice.work, and social services.

Building Nurturing Communities in residential treatment homes and centers

Training foster and adoptive parents and residential treatment staff on the philosophy, principals and characteristics of a nurturing family unit is critical to establishing strong, capable and productive children and adolescents.
